Kaitlyn- 6 weeks old Playing with Daddy Kaitlyn's "first dip" in the pool with her cousins... no screaming or anything! I think she actually liked it. Of course the water temp in this pool is always over 80 degrees!

BE Company Picnic

Blackwell Engineering had a company picnic this past Friday. Probably the best part of the event was learning that Jeff has passed is PE exam! (Well, at least Jeff probably thought it was the best part!) Congratulations Jeff O., PE!!!
Just about everyone from the office made it out with their families for the evening! We had good food, good conversation, a couple mosquito bites, a little sweat, and lots of FUN. Thanks for having us!

Pictures are uploaded and a link can be found here and on the right under photo albums

Twirl Time

Do you remember being a little girl and twirling? This is my niece, Emma, she LOVES to wear pretty dresses and twirl...

I just love this dress! I tried to talk her into wearing it to Kaitlyn's last shower for me, but i didn't win that battle! But I did get her to twirl for me!

Staunton Family Weekend

Let's see, it has been 2 weeks ago now (W-O-W time is flying by!) that we had family come into town for yet one more shower, the last of many! Early on we had decided to have a family shower in Staunton after the baby was born, so as peopled travelled in they would also get to see the baby!

My mom has as group of ladies that are some tried and true friends of hers (and the family's) and these 4 ladies organized and hosted the baby shower. We had lunch, socializing, and gifts! The day was beautiful as we were able to sit outside and enjoy one another!

Again, more pictures uploaded to our picassa web page! See the right column for the link!

We had a great weekend and thanks to everyone for travelling up or the day to visit and meet little Kaitlyn.

Bottle Time

We started giving Kaitlyn a bottle 1x/day. Every evening around 8 or 9 pm her daddy will feed her a bottle. We are trying to get her ready for when mommy goes back to work, which is coming ever so quickly in just 2 weeks.

She took to it almost immediately! (yeah for mommy...get one little break). It's such a nice time or daddy and little baby girl to have some close bonding time. There's nothing like that look from your little one as you're holding them close and feeding them.

The bottle is also helping her sleep a little longer on the first leg of the night! She's anywhere from 4 to 5+ hours now, which mommy is really excited about.

Family Weekend in PA

We made our way to PA the other weekend. It started out G-R-E-A-T! Kaitlyn slept the whole way there! Well, the last 10-15 mins she cried because she was hungry, but basically she made it the entire trip! What a blessing!!

It was a great weekend to spend with family. Everyone made it to Grammy and Pop Pop's for the weekend. We arrived Friday night to a houseful of boys, and two of them were just thrilled to see thier new cousin Kaitlyn. Every chance they got they were touching her, watching her, hugging her, kissing her! It was soooo sweet... Zachy and Tyler both were just enamoured by her... "I love baby girls" Zachy would tell me over and over again! They all did really well with her.

Kaitlyn got to meet all of her aunts and uncles and cousins. She is grandbaby #7 on the Landis side and girl #3... watch out boys, we're catching up to you! They all just loved on her and it was fun to see what she may look like in 4 more months, because her 5 month old cousin Ashley was there as well! It's amazing how they grow and how big Ash looks compared to little Kaitlyn...

This was also Matt's first Father's Day! I think it was special for the 3 of us to be in PA with his family for the weekend for him! He seemed to glow with pride over his little girl. She has him wrapped around his finger I believe!

I've posted more pictures, of course! Over on the right under Photo Albums, you'll see the link, check them out!

p.s. notice i didn't mention the ride home with the baby girl...hmmm... ;)

4 weeks old

It's hard to believe, I KNOW, but Kaitlyn will be 4 weeks old this thursday! I'm shocked at how fast this time has gone by!!! Our little girl seems to be a pretty easy child.... now, don't get me wrong- she defintely has her moments, but like i've said- we ALL have our moments, don't we?

We've had two nights where she slept for 4 hours and then 5 hour stretches! Oh Lord, bring it on- more of those is exactly what we've ordered!

She enjoys eating and sleeping and making dirty diapers, and of course she loves being held by her mommy and daddy! Play time on the floor is usually fun, but that gets a little boring more quickly than the other activities she enjoys :o)

We are both adjusting to parenthood, lack of sleep, and family! What an amazing gift the Lord has seen fit to give to us and entrust to US, He handpicked this sweet little girl just for us to be her parents; to be the people that teach her about Jesus and help guide and direct her in the path the Lord has for HER! W-O-W...that's a whole other topic, isn't it?

A HUGE thank you to everyone that has brought us meals- they have ALL been greatly appreciated and enjoyed! I'm quickly approaching time to face reality and I will have to start making dinner on my own next week... OH MY! i've been so blessed (and spoiled- well I mean not spoiled- just 'well taken care of') with all the meals and just not having to think about them... now it's time to start 'multi-tasking' and learing how to hold a crying baby and cook at the same time.... I use to think all these stay at home moms have all day to get things done- why can't they just get it done? well... NOW I KNOW- and i apologize for thinking you really have all this time on your hands during the day with one or mutlitple children at home.... :o)

We've been updating the Kaitlyn photo album with more and more recent pictures, so keep checking it out!

Love ya!!!
