Cause to Celebrate

Today, August 15th, marks two milestones for our family!

Buxton turns 10 years old today and Kaitlyn turns 3 months old today!

So - here is a picture of Buxton taken today. He has been and continues to be such good company to us. He is quite protective of his little girl, and also jealous at times :), we hope to have several more good and happy years with him! He is probably more popular and better known in our neighborhood than Matt and I are! All the kids just LOVE him! So he should never be at a lack of someone to play with, someone to throw that ball for him! He is just so good with kids and gentle! Matt and I went for a walk the other night in Foxcroft, and there were several boys playing wiffle ball- they were all like "is that Buxton..." - See what I mean- all the kids seem to know him! What a treasure!

Now, onto our baby girl! Kaitlyn Olivia is 3 months old today!

WOW! She is really spoiling us. She is amazing! She is so alert and interested in everything around her. She has started discovering her hands, and enjoys sucking on them. We assume this can only mean she will find that thumb one day! (which, right now I'm not opposed to- since she refuses the Nuk). She rolls from side to side, but that arm and hip still manage to get in the way of the 'flip'.

I love the way her eyes will light up when her mommy or daddy talks to her, and the smiles that she gives you! And probably the best gift she gave me this morning was ME waking up BEFORE her!!! you go girl!

And- we celebrated today by meeting Daddy at the park for a lunch picnic!

We love her so much and feel truly blessed to have her in our lives!

Family Weekend in the Burg #2

Ok, so I am a little late with this post...I guess I've been busy working... or something! Time just keeps passing me by... it's not waiting on me to make my posts in a timely manner...

Two weekends in a row we were able to have Matt's family come or visits... I managed to get the first weekend post up, but now it is finally time for the second weekend!
Matt's older brother and older sister along with their families came for a visit! I think everyone had a nice time... especially my niece Michelle- because she won the poker tournament Matt put together for the gang!

It was a pretty low key weekend where we were able to just hang out and visit with each other... and there was lots of baby holding going on by the Aunts! :)
There was hot tubing... as nicely demonstrated below by Michelle and her Dad-Louie...
There was wiffle ball... as seen below with Uncle Matt, Jordan, and Jarod...
Jarod up to bat!
And there was golfing... as seen in this picture of Tyler!!!
There was more golfing at the course as well.... but Tyler made a better picture :) hehehe
And there was poker playing.... sorry no pictures of that event- the ladies were out shopping...

Thanks for visiting family. We know how much trouble it can be to load everyone and everything up and make the 4+ hour trip down here - just to see us! But we love you for it! It was a great time!! Let's do it again soon... (But not too soon! ) haha- you know we love ya!

Homemade Baby Wipes!!

So, i was talking with a friend today, and we were discussing ways to save money... of course!
one thing we do at our home is to make 'homemade' baby wipes... if you're interested... here is a recipe...

2 cups + a little more water (I use warm water)
1 Tablespoon Baby Magic Baby Bath (or any baby bath...)
1/2 roll of Bounty Jumbo paper towels
Soak for about 1 minute and take out roll in the middle of the paper towels.

I cut the roll of paper towels with my bread knife :)
and i store the prepared wipes in a tupperware container that works perfectly...

See pictures below for a better explaination.
